| This is an experiment in making erotica of pornography,
as lewd as the original but not as ludicrous. Clips from a pornographic
film are slowed down and re-worked as black and white mirror images on
a cinemascope double screen, with the white fades of the title breaking
across the full screen between clips. The effect is of a continuous frieze
of sexual encounters, which retain their force but are distanced by the
formality of their presentation. The original film includes the peep-show
"ring-master" and audience as characters, and this is retained
to balance distancing with involvement. |
